Pearls in Motion

This jewel is a unique and revolutionary new concept transformed into a necklace. new concept.

It just needed someone to think of it.

And the first to dream it up was Mikimoto.

At first glance, this "Pearls in Motion" choker looks like a chain from which 5 or 7 cultured pearls are dangling.
But "Pearls in Motion" hides a secret. It can be transformed to suit your mood.

Each pearl is attached to an adjustable chain with an invisible mechanism that can be lengthened and shortened to transform the necklace.

With the Mikimoto "Pearls in Motion" system, the necklace can be converted from a choker to a long chain with a simple movement.

This clever patented system, never used in jewellery before, is absolutely unique. What's more, all the pieces remain permanently attached to the necklace, so they don't get lost.

The best way to understand it is to try it out for yourself.

Patron of the "Crillon Debutante Ball"
since 1996
The Parisian boutique Mikimoto has been located in the fashionable Place Vendôme since 1986.
Under the aegis of its Chairman Toyohiko Mikimoto, it patrons the French debuts of twenty-four exceptional young girls upon the occasion of the Crillon Debutante Ball.

Kokichi Mikimoto, the creator of cultured pearl, had a dream come true on July 11th, 1893. After many years of hard work and bitter disappointment, he obtained a perfectly round cultured pearl.

In 1908, Kokichi Mikimoto obtained the first biological patent in the world for the production process of the perfect spherical cultured pearl.

By the time he died in 1954, at the age of ninety-six, Kokichi Mikimoto was known as the "Pearl King."

The pearl is the first jewel offered to young girls, and the most beautiful ornament in a woman's life.

For centuries, the pearl has been a symbol of feminity and purity. Mikimoto has brought this tradition to women around the world with the pure white Japanese Akoya Pearl, the precious pearls of the South Seas, and the naturally-black pearls of Tahiti, which are becoming increasingly popular every year.

This little pearl, born in the deep waters of the Polynesian lagoons or the South Seas, is between 7.5 and 8.5 mm in diameter.

It varies in colour from golden white to deepest black, rose-beige or blue-grey.

Worn on a delicate yellow or white gold chain, it looks exquisite.

So does the mother.

Clipearl collection
For smart, fun-loving women who give the impression they change their jewellery as often as they change their clothes.
Who have so many to choose from that they can't make up their minds.

"Let's see. Which pendant shall I wear today? Shall I wear this trendy little lasso necklace with a white pearl? Or maybe a gold one? Mind you, with this dress a black pearl would look better.

Suppose I go to a drinks party this evening? Right, I'll wear it with the pearl set in diamonds... mind you, the black diamond one is really pretty too."

For the woman who finds it hard to choose, who likes to play with her image, Mikimoto has invented Clipearl: a pearl that clips onto a white gold lasso necklace, with a diamond-set loop.

Mix and match to suit your slightest whim, and change your jewellery several times a day if you feel like it.
No need to buy several pendants. One's enough. But because it looks different every time you wear it, people will think you've bought the entire collection.
